The poem below the video describing the hardships and heartaches aboard the boats leaving Viet Nam and the words to this song profoundly touched my heart and soul. I was in Viet Nam during those terrible times and all I could see was the destruction of a beautiful country and the beautiful people of Viet Nam. I wanted it to stop but I could not do anything. With a heavy heart, I am sorry for what we had done to Viet Nam and to its people. Two Tours of Duty in Viet Nam; 1969-1970 and 1972-1973.
